Literacy & NCEA Training
In 2007, World Moving & Storage and Tranzqual (who have since merged with MITO – NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation) were asked to develop a nationally recognised qualification for the moving industry. In 2010, we completed a three-year development programme to obtain the National Certificate in Relocations.
The National Certificate in Relocation Operations was registered on the National Qualifications Framework by Tranzqual ITO in 2010 and developed with the Industry Advisory Group. Experts from across the relocations industry, including Raymond Dobbe from World Moving & Storage, developed the programme to increase the standards for skill and professionalism in the industry. This certification is available for domestic and international professionals in the relocation industry.
After the programme was launched, World Moving implemented a training program in our workplace to ensure competencies are met and our staff earn the National Certificate. We have also supported two of our staff as they became qualified workplace assessors. World Moving team members are the first trainees in New Zealand to earn the National Certificates in Relocations. Since 2010, we have successfully trained and assessed a number of staff who now hold National Certificates.
Our goal is for all operational staff to hold a National Certificate once they reach their two-year anniversary with World Moving & Storage. This goal allows us to invest in the personal development of staff as they become qualified professionals. We proudly celebrate the achievements of our staff with an awards presentation at social events.

World Moving & Storage Literacy Programme
Our literacy and numeracy programme is a training programme designed to build our staff with skills to complete everyday tasks including speaking, listening, reading, writing, maths, using technology, solving problems and making decisions. The programme provides employees with the confidence to perform a wide range of duties to the maximum of their ability. Our employees are paid their regular salary while they receive this training. The costs of implementing the literacy programme reach up to $40,000 – but we believe that investing in our staff and their development is crucial to our development as a company.
